This week at film school we were tasked to pitch the script we have been working on for the past three weeks in my case it was Last Dance, a romance / drama film that I had challenged myself to write, although working on it and refining it I personally believe that the story hadn’t hit the point I was looking for at this point I would describe it like a lukewarm or room temperature soup, there were moments and themes in the script I wanted to bring to the surface but wasn’t able to and personally I feel as if I missed the mark and these were closer to the subtext of the film that is why before I was going to pitch the film I personally didn’t want to make this film yet, as the story wasn’t ready.

Although I had decided I didn’t want to create this film yet when it came to the pitch itself I was extremely nervous, and I’m pretty sure that came through, In general I’m not the greatest public speaker I often prefer to retreat into my shell, this leads to how I could have improved in the future, Although I practiced my speech and what I was going to say doing it more and more could have led to less nerves overall which would have helped have a better overall pitch.

Overall to its hard to say whether I was successful or not, overall I personally didn’t want to make the project and was successful in not getting it picked but a successful pitch in the eyes of everyone else would be one that got picked to go into production, so… I’m going to say I was successful in my own goal.
