So, the film is almost there? NO! its been through two rough cuts and there’s still sections with no audio!
Although we are starting to edit the film we are running into so many problems, some of the shots we need are out of focus or soft and others not recorded at all, this simply comes down to not having enough time, and personally there isn’t really anyone to blame as it was a pretty hectic night. In terms of what I can bring to the table in the post-production phase I have a bit of past experience with colour grading and correction so I feel I will be able to assist our first-time colourist to bring the director's vision to life.
In terms of feedback for other productions in class I often gave positive feedback as the films have come far from what they were originally which is amazing to see these projects grow, but my main feedback came in terms of offering advice for Wild Wests and The Colours in The Dark (second film) on the colour although this was on their final exaptation cut I hope my advice could allow them to get the overall vibe they were going for and I was happy to help fix any of the issues.
Although a lot had to be cut out of our final film I feel there are still moments where the subtext is strong and comes through, for example the car scene is an example of the brotherly bond of the two characters and the monologue scene screams respect and power which is what the writer was going for.
