Directing

I have never been more interested in becoming a director. I often find myself gravitating towards roles in which either challenge me creatively or allows me to have creative freedom, that is why I tend to look towards being a Director of Photography as its a role that doesn't necessarily challenge me creatively but it allows me to use my technical knowledge of equipment gathered from years of work as a DoP and freelance videographer.

With that being said after the Directing lecture I have never wanted to attempt to apply for that role, I know that directors have to interpret the story - that's a must, and how they have to communicate with the actors to get the performance they need, but one thing I've never had to do is be invested in to the story to the point where they plan out every little detail - often making rules for themselves to follow, which leads to a greater overall product.



Below is my directors treatment for Cleanliness of Dirt and sample of my marked up script for last dance:
